W(heat)eze packs for special Therapeutic uses

 

Hand Warmer / Earache / Toothache pack

Extra small packs heated in a microwave for 10 seconds to treat Earache or Toothache can also be used as a hand warmer by heating for 30 seconds and if not required immediately  can be heated for 50 seconds and  wrapped in tin foil shiny side inside, to hold their heat longer.

 

Collar

 

Four styles are available to be heated in a microwave for up to 2 minutes. Classed as Extra long, Standard (heavy), Fluted and Light, boxed these last two help to prevent the easy movement of the filling to the ends and hold the heat onto the neck, in Lavender, Un-perfumed and Lavender & Chamomile, designed to fit on the neck and shoulders to relieve stress and tension in the upper body.

 

               Sports Pack and Small Square

The Sports pack is half as big again as the small square and again to be heated in a microwave for max of 2 min these are designed to be applied to bad backs knees and tummies etc. These make fantastic replacements for the Hot water bottle, They don’t burst and soak the mattress, they never get cold and wake you up to kick it out of bed its also possible to lay on them as there is no hard lumps also no risk of scalding whilst filling.

 

Mitt

This is equivalent to two small packs which are sewn to form a pocket that allows the hand to be heated both sides at the same time, ideal for anyone with poor circulation or rheumatism in the hands can also be used for the feet and toes.

 

Cozy Toze

Was designed to be heated in a microwave and then put into your shoes, boots or wellingtons so that you start out with your feet warm and comfortable. Hill walkers tend  to drive to their site of interest, and it can be unsafe to drive in climbing or walking boots so the warmers are  put in to their boots on leaving home and change from their shoes on reaching the site, putting the warmers into their shoes, so the shoes are warm to drive home in when they finish the walk.

Designed and fitted with a loose pair of ankle socks to allow washing and fitted with Velcro fastenings, Select colours as (light, dark, girly or lads) as final colours depend on stocks available.

 

Probable cause for problems with wheat bags that have been the cause of loss of life: -

Our wheat bags instructions Explain that the heating should be only 1 to 1½ minutes.

We have had people visit our stall and we have been shocked, when they have told us that they have a wheat bag which is up to 6 years old and that they regularly cook it for 5 minutes or more before use.

We tell them that it needs to be discarded at this ripe age as it is a risk of fire.

Also if the bag is more than 18 months old and in regular use it should be ditched as all the useable body in the wheat will have been degraded and only a dried out husk will be left and it is this husk that starts smouldering.  A good guide is if it isn't warm enough at 3 min's get rid.

So do not overheat your wheat bag and make a concerted effort to replace it regularly

at most 2 years.
